DK-BICYCLESDK Bicycles was founded in Dayton, Ohio, USA by Charlie Danishek in 1979. Charlie's son, Bill, and daughter, Nikki, were both accomplished BMX racers, and the Danishek family's love for the sport combined with Charlie's knowledge of manufacturing drove the patriarch to design his company's first product: the now legendary DK BMX stem.
For 15 years after its inception, DK stems defined the state of design in BMX. DK stands for “Dad and Kids.”Charlie Danishek and his son Bill Danishek decided to start an independent BMX retail business so they opened America’s first all BMX wholesale business in 1995 called System Cycle Supply. It remains to be the most prominent one-stop-shop for BMX products in America.
DK has been making BMX frames since 1994, including the iconic RM59, General Lee, and Colin Winkleman’s signature S.O.B frame. DK has been offering a quality line of complete BMX bikes since 1997, in addition to its full BMX parts line.DK Bicycles continues to strive for excellence in 2008 by integrating advanced product engineering, creatively charged design & marketing solutions, with a diverse team of some of the most influential riders in BMX.
